Email Marketing FAQs
We intend to act as a technical resource for email marketers everywhere. With this in mind we encourage you to send your FAQs to us and we'll endeavour to solve any issues or concerns you have and share them with other users.
Q. I am not a technical person. What can I do?
A. If you aren't a technical person, we will probably be designing and creating the email content, putting the HTML together and actually delivering the campaign for you. You will then be given a username and password to access the administration area.
From here you will be able to add, amend and delete members, see previous newsletters and also see how successful your campaigns have been through the reports page. You can do all this with a click of the mouse, there is no technical expertise required and there isn't any software to install. It's all Web-based too so you can see this information from anywhere you have access to the Internet.
Q. I am concerned about the legal aspects of what I am doing. What do I need to know?
A. We REALLY do not enjoy SPAM ourselves. As such we are REALLY keen not to contribute to it ourselves. ThingyMail is an opt-in system and as such we advocate using opt-in lists, not lists which have been bought in. The laws around email marketing are not really complex but we do advise you to be aware of them.

Q. I can get very cheap email delivery from the USA. What's the benefit of ThingyMail?
A. Firstly, we offer FREE telephone support on a non-premium rate line. When you call us, you speak to us. There isn't an email support system that protects us from you. We want to speak to you and that's what we do. ANY reasonable request for help and advice will be dealt with.
Secondly, our delivery servers are UK servers which helps with delivery rates and means we are far less likely to be blacklisted as a result of unscrupulous email users. We also monitor our users and are not afraid to remove users that we believe will cause problems for our other customers.
